A visit to gastronomic Durbuy has been on my to-do list for a while now. This small, cosy and historical town gives you a lovely holiday feeling, where you can enjoy the nice terraces, the authentic shops and the beautiful nature! As I am a real sweet tooth, I spent my afternoon at Désirée. What can you expect here? The amazing creations of top chef and pastry chef Roger van Damme! Minutely presented and tasteful dishes, from breakfast to dessert and from sweet to savoury. A sublime experience guaranteed!
I often live in an upside-down world so I started with dessert. A delicious, airy waffle with strawberries, finished with icing sugar. Very tasty and ideal as a snack! I also tasted the toast americain with a touch of truffle and the toast with homemade pâté and a small tower of Ardenian ham. We have to stop here, because wow! Besides delicious desserts, Roger van Damme also knows how to spoil the taste buds with these toasts!

Of course I finished my lunch with a delicious cappuccino, prepared with Désirée’s Classico beans. This accessible coffee is in fact a subtle arabica blend of three high-quality South American and African beans, which gives it a fruity and flowery taste that turns into a smooth coffee with a slight acidity. Balanced with a caramel sweetness. The icing on the cake is a tasty biscuit with raspberry notes!

My mouth is watering again as I write this article. You too? Then I have good news for you, because you can find these coffee beans, as well as Roger’s baking mixes, tea and much more in the shop and the webshop! I went to the shop and bought the brownie mix and the mountain breeze oolong tea. I’m going to enjoy it!
