1. Bertinchamps
On the Bertinchamps label, there is a large capital letter ” B” referring – as you wish – to Bertinchamps, Belgium, beer, Benoît, etc. Bertinchamps Brewery is a site full of character, located in Gembloux, where beers are brewed by the same family. The ultra-modern brewing installation with an annual capacity of 6,000 hl creates a striking contrast between cutting-edge technology and a site that is more than 7 centuries old. The water used by the Humblet family to produce their beers comes from 66m underground and the hops and malt are also carefully selected. What do they offer? Six unique beers: Triple, Blonde, Brune, Légère, Hiver and Pamplemousse. You can expect flavours like caramel and biscuits, grapefruit with a hint of ginger and mocha and bitter chocolate. These beautiful looking bottles are worth trying one by one!

2. FERRE

“Brewing quality beers with a twist is our core business. We do this as craftsmen in heart and soul, with respect for the product but also in a professional and innovative way using the latest techniques.” – Thijs Maenhout & Birgit De Rammelaere
3. BAR BELGE

4. seefbier
Seefbier is the historical beer of the city of Antwerp, with roots going back to the 16th century, so popular that in the 19th century the neighbourhood ‘Seefhoek’ was even named after it. There is a whole history behind the beer, but also a whole adventure. The beer disappeared for more than 80 years and the recipe was lost, but after a search of almost 3 years the recipe was finally found. With the help of renowned brewing experts, this old recipe was brought back to life. The result was so popular that the Antwerp Brewing Company was founded. Their mission? To bring Seefbier and other interesting old or new beers back to life. Seefbier has already been voted 7X World’s Best at the World Beer Cup, the World Beer Awards, the Global Craft Beer Awards and the Brussels Beer Challenge.

5. porte bonheur
This fresh, young brewery was founded inJanuary 2020 and specialises in brewing unique & quality beers. Currently, they only offer their white and amber beers, but soon the triple will also be available on the market! The brewery is located in Bierbeek which makes the Porte Bonheur a local beer from the region around Leuven, the beer city par excellence. It is therefore impossible to be closer to the source of the golden water! Did you know that ‘Porte Bonheur’ is Leuven’s dialect for ‘lucky charm’? This is why they have incorporated a four-leaf clover in their logo.

6. golden dragon
With Gulden Draak (Golden Dragon), Brouwerij Van Steenberge has brewed a fire red beer that is just as powerful as the symbol of the dragon itself. This beer also goes back a long way in time and is named after the dragon on top of the belfry of Ghent, a symbol of power. A Gulden Draak is therefore not something you drink at any time. It is a heavy beer that can be degusted. You have to earn a Gulden Draak. You drink it when you have surpassed yourself and want to celebrate. Or at moments when you look back on a victory with satisfaction. Be sure to try their heavy, dark smoked beer, the Gulden Draak Smoked! The creation of this beer goes back to the ancient tradition of drying malt: the smoking of malt. This gave the malt a smoky flavour, which you could taste in the beer afterwards. This typical smoke flavour was lost over the years because the drying techniques for the malt were made considerably more efficient. Those who want to drink the perfect Gulden Draak should drink the beer in its unique glass, a mysterious dragon egg that rests on the strength of a rock. A dragon is lasered onto the bottom of each glass, ensuring that the beer’s fine head is retained for a long time!

Did you get thirsty? We can believe that! Feel free to get something to drink, maybe a beer, and in the meantime enjoy our other articles in our PureFood (& drinks) section. Enjoy reading!
