“Sssst, hier rijpt den Duvel” is written in large letters on the factory building along the A12 motorway. With the launch of Duvel Distilled, you can take this quite literally. Get to know Duvel’s new distillate which, after 10 years of patiently maturing in sherry and bourbon casks, finally sees the light of day.
Limited edition
For Duvel Distilled, part of Duvel’s basic brew was distilled in the authentic manner and then matured for ten years in oak bourbon and sherry barrels. The result is a unique Duvel-based spirit with golden hints of colour and floral aromas. Duvel Distilled 2020, matured for 10 years, will be available in a limited edition on the Belgian market. Only 13,923 bottles are available, so those who want to get their hands on a bottle will have to be quick, because last year the stock was exhausted after three days.
Gold
Duvel Distilled is a pure, transparent drink with straw yellow and golden hues with an aroma of vanilla, sultanas and toffee. The alcohol content is 40°. By allowing the spirit to mature in oak bourbon and sherry barrels, this spirits gets a subtle vanilla touch. The aftertaste is characterised by a warming mouthfeel.
Duvel Distilled 2020, matured for 10 years, is delicious paired with grilled fish and meat, vegetables such as artichokes and sprouts as well as dark chocolate, crème brulée and tarte tatin. Old, hard cheeses such as Parmesan or old Groendael also pair extremely well with this spirit. This drink is best served in a tumbler glass with ice cubes or pure in a small tulip glass.
