What if … you combine chocolates and champagne in a perfect way? The result is an effervescent explosion of flavour that will knock the socks off chocolate lovers, champagne connoisseurs and gourmets alike! Together with Gault & Millau and top sommelier Yanick Dehandschutter, the inventor of the Belgian praline, Neuhaus, developed a new Pairing Collection with four exquisite pralines that go perfectly with a glass of champagne.
The search for surprising innovations and new flavours: this is the thread running through the history of Neuhaus. More than a century ago, this is how Jean Neuhaus Jr. invented the Belgian praline. In recent years, Neuhaus has developed a selection of chocolates that go well with coffee and wine. This autumn, the Maîtres Chocolatiers will surprise with a third, original Pairing Collection of pralines and champagne: two delicacies with a complex flavour profile that both complement and enhance each other.

In a creative bubble with a top sommelier
With all the corona bubbles, you would almost forget the pleasures of real bubbles. Thanks to Neuhaus, the sparkling taste sensation takes on a new dimension this autumn. The Maîtres Chocolatiers worked with Yanick Dehandschutter, Gault & Millau Sommelier of the Year, to create the perfect pralines to accompany four different types of champagne.
Gastronomy, wine and champagne have no secrets for Dehandschutter. He grew up in his parents’ restaurant, Sir Kwinten in Lennik, and today he is at the helm of it together with chef Glenn Verhasselt. The restaurant received its first Michelin star in 2020. Exceptional wine and champagne pairings are Sir Kwinten’s strength. No better partner to give shape – or especially taste – to the Pairing Collection – Sparkling Edition.
Neuhaus also teamed up with the highly renowned champagne brand Bollinger for the Pairing Collection. The prestigious champagne of this house has a distinct character and individuality: the ideal match with the Neuhaus chocolates! Bollinger Special Cuvée will be available in Neuhaus boutiques together with the Pairing Collection.
Four chocolates, four types of champagne
As with wine, there are also different types of champagne, each with its own character and flavour profile. Neuhaus developed four pralines, tailored to (extra-)brut, demi-sec, rosé and millésimé champagne.
