Luxurious floating around on the Seabourn Ovation

Who thinks that travelling on a cruise ship is something reserved for the over-60s, think again. Cruises have been on the rise for some time now. So much so that last year, the number of passengers doubled worldwide. With more and more young people and families among the passengers. The shipping companies are therefore fully adapting their ships to the needs of their new passengers. Last week, we went to take a look at the Seabourn cruise. A luxurious cruise ship that was docked in Antwerp for the occasion!

In honour of the 30th anniversary of the Ovation, the ultra luxury cruise concept of the Sabourne shipping company, a brand new ship has just been launched. This ultra-modern cruiser re-defines luxury and has been designed according to the latest technology for energy optimisation but combines this with unseen luxury for the traveller.

We are immersed in the splendour of the ship as soon as we embark. We have only just taken a few steps onto the ship and find ourselves standing on the prow with its magnificent terraces including jacuzzis. We dream away while sipping a glass of bubbly with a view of Antwerp Cathedral.

Further on in the ship, we successively encounter a fully equipped wellness area, a cinema, a casino and a fitness room with a view of the water. Sweating off the calories gained here is certainly not a painful thought.

And that may be more than necessary, because the catering offer is also overwhelming! The ship offers multiple à l carte and buffet restaurants. If you do not have enough variety on your plate, you can also check in at the private sushi restaurant. We enjoyed the art of the chefs and could only agree that it is very good food on board!

A top Belgian chef is already present in the kitchens on board the Seabourne! Kurt Timmermans received his training in top restaurants Mardaga and the two star restaurant De Slagmolen. Today, he leads a team of 61 cooks to offer guests all that good food. Enjoy!
