New location opens in Amsterdam’s Vondelpark
Parkzuid has opened its doors in Amsterdam’s most popular park: the Vondelpark. In the former Filmmuseum, locals, athletes, tourists and families can go for a good breakfast or a chopped salad, as well as comfort food. Everyone has been thought of.
Strandzuid is now a well-known concept in Amsterdam. In summer, the city beach is packed with people enjoying the sun, a nice drink and good food. The high standards Strandzuid is known for are continued by entrepreneurs Michel Pais and Bram van Es in Parkzuid. Besides the fact that both locations overlook a park (Beatrixpark vs Vondelpark), due attention is paid to the quality of service, atmosphere, bar, kitchen and food presentation. Strandzuid and Parkzuid go hand-in-hand.

Salads and guilty pleasures on the menu
Guests are welcome from 10am for a good breakfast. Think chia juice with cocoa, almond milk, granola and tangerine or eggs florentine. Lunch consists of a number of healthy dishes, such as various chopped salads (no cutting required, so nice and easy!) and sandwiches, but there is also plenty of choice in fine comfort food, the guilty pleasures, such as a good burger and pizzas. But you can also go to Parkzuid for a nice piece of apple pie with a cappuccino, a portion of bitterballen with a beer or vegetarian options. From mid-March, Parkzuid will also open its doors in the evenings and expand the terrace to the entire front and the steps of the stately building. Ready for long, sultry summer evenings under the stars of Amsterdam. And yes, even on the huge terrace, guests can simply order à la carte.
Outside in
Parkzuid sits in the historic Vondelpark Pavilion, one of Amsterdam’s most beautiful buildings. Also known as the Filmmuseum, it housed there from 1972 to 2012. The pavilion was designed by Willem Hamer and built between 1874 and 1881 at the lowest point of the city, in the Vondelpark. And that park can also be found inside. In the form of different shades of green, the use of wood, lots of plants and a moss wall. The interior is spacious and brings the outside in. Several walls are decorated by paintings or renamed poster walls, as a link to the history of the Film Museum. Apart from a good and cosy restaurant with one of the largest terraces in the city, Parkzuid, like Strandzuid, acts as an ideal event location where history and nature come together.
Parkzuid is part of Unlimited Label and open seven days a week from 10am. Sunday to Thursday until 6pm and Friday and Saturday until 7pm. More information or reservations? Then visit www.park-zuid.nl.
