Jewelry designer Karolin Van Loon and Corinne van Havre of Belgian interior label LaLouL, two friends who dreamed of creating together… This dream came true when they launched their first object within the REFLECTIONS collection. A mirror, but even more a sculptural interior object inspired by Karolin’s bracelets. Next to your jewellery box, in your dressing room or on your make-up table, EMBRACE becomes part of your personal beauty ritual. Or place the mirror in the entrance hall, the guest room or the living room and give your interior a subtle aura.
A complementary story
Karolin and Corinne share a love for noble materials, jewellery and authentic craft. Fan of each other’s product and vision, they had long wanted to create something together and combine their creative identities. This is how the idea arose to enlarge one of Karolin’s jewels into an interior object. With an eye for detail, refinement and elegance, Corinne translated Karolin’s characteristic form language into this unique mirror. EMBRACE is the first object within the REFLECTIONS collection, which Karolin and Corinne will expand step by step. A collection of handmade 3D sculptures with a own design language and rocks which remind you of the beauty of nature.
A warm manifesto
The concept behind EMBRACE has as many angles as its three-dimensional form. For instance, it incorporates Karolin and Corinne’s reciprocal appreciation and the designers want to inspire you to care for yourself. The interior object is also a warm manifesto to embrace who you see in the mirror: your own true self.
A unique piece of art handmade in Antwerp
Each EMBRACE is a pièce unique due to the hand selected agate geode from Brazil, a stone quarried from volcanic rock. When you cut this stone in half, it reveals the most beautiful colours. The entire production process and the hand assembly are done in local workshops in Antwerp. The selection of the agate geodes, directly at the source, was not done overnight. Karolin and Corinne specifically searched for colours with a rare, deep beauty. Just like in Karolin’s jewellery collection, the selected agate geodes meet the AAA quality standard.
