After our adventures in the Cape Town area, we continued our journey to the enchanting Botlierskop Private Game Reserve, located along the picturesque Garden Route. This private game reserve, which covers 4,200 hectares, offers a unique blend of luxury and nature experiences.

The drive from Cape Town to Botlierskop took us along breathtaking coastlines and green hills. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and taken to our accommodation for the next few days: the Bush Villa in Botlierskop game reserve.
The Bush Villa: Luxury in the middle of the wilderness
Our Bush Villa proved to be an oasis of comfort and privacy. The villa was spacious with an open lounge, a fully equipped kitchen and several bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The interior design combined modern elegance with authentic African accents, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Large windows and a spacious terrace offered panoramic views of a nearby pond. The highlight was without a doubt the private infinity pool, where we could cool off while watching animals such as rhinos and giraffes drink from the pond.
Culinary enjoyment with a braai
We spent one of the most memorable evenings with a traditional braai (South African barbecue) on our terrace. The villa had an outdoor barbecue and all the necessary facilities to prepare a meal ourselves. As the sun set, we enjoyed delicious grilled meat and fresh vegetables, with the sound of the African wilderness in the background. At one point we were even treated to the impressive sound of a hippo trumpeting in the pool in front of us.
Relaxation and observation
In addition to the barbecue, the villa offered numerous opportunities for relaxation. The spacious terrace was equipped with comfortable lounge chairs, perfect for sunbathing or reading a book. For the ultimate in relaxation, there was a hot tub that we could enjoy in the evening under the starry sky. It was a unique experience to relax in the warm water while watching elephants and antelopes graze in the distance.
Safari experiences: game drives
A stay at Botlierskop is not complete without participating in the game drives. Every morning and evening, an experienced ranger picked us up directly at our villa in an open safari vehicle. During these drives we explored the vast reserve and came face to face with a variety of wild animals, including lions, elephants, buffalo and countless bird species. Our guide’s knowledge and passion made every drive informative and exciting.
