See and be seen at Hotel Urban (Madrid)

Under a new heading ‘Places to stay’, we at PureDeluxe are bringing you new tips on cool places to stay when you make a trip at home or abroad. In our previous article about Madrid, we extensively praised the Spanish capital. Today we give you a top tip for where to stay: Urban Hotel.

At PureDeluxe we like to choose Boutique hotels. Not because hotel chains cannot offer good hotels. It is because boutique hotels usually surprise you with their personal approach. So it is with Urban Hotel in Madrid. It is certainly urban because of its super central location. Exit the hotel on the left and you are walking to the Plaza Puerto Del Sol, the bustling commercial heart of Madrid. Turn right down the Carrera de San Geronimo and you will soon find yourself in Parco Retiro or the green lung of Madrid with the Museum Prado as its entrance door.

We liked Urban because it offers everything that a luxury boutique hotel stands for: state of the art rooms with every imaginable luxury, a top-notch rooftop bar with swimming pool as well as very exquisite service. It is not for nothing that the hotel is one of the favourite hotels of the Madrileen Jet set. At sunset, the rooftop is a place to see and be seen, and the ladies put on their best dresses. The cocktails are shaken by a gang of handsome barbers. What else.

After all those cocktails, you can dive straight into your room via a glass tube lift that will take you to your ‘gravelpit’ in no time. We enjoyed the junior suite. 32 square metres of pure pleasure, with a beautiful bathroom where you can completely sink into the bubble bath. With a view of the room! Before you switch off the light, blink your eyes at the Maori-art that decorates your room!
