A new culinary meeting place in Brussels
Are you still looking for a unique and vibrant place to de-connect or surprise your loved one or friends? AUM in Kraainem (Brussels) offers what they call a High Energy Fine Dining concept. Let your taste buds tease and please and boost your mood with the international atmosphere of this new establishment.
AUM refers to the concept of sound or vibration in Sanskrit. And that also happens to be the perfect name for this place where energetic vibes set the tone. A visit to AUM is much more than a night out for dinner. Here you immediately imagine yourself in a chic hotspot in the middle of East London. Right at the entrance you get the feeling of entering a universe of elegance and luxury. After all coats and accessories are safely stored in the checkroom, you enter the stylish restaurant. The chairs or better design armchairs immediately give a comfortable feeling. Those not wanting to go straight for an à la carte experience can take a seat in the lounge to share various smaller dishes. Wherever you sit, facing the open kitchen, the beautiful bar or next to the dance floor, all the interior details are right: from the beautiful glasses, the table tops with inlays, luxurious upholstery and stitching, to the sultry but not intrusive Indian beats, high time for the first taste bombs.

Tasty & crispy
The evening is young and the cocktails are tasty and the appetizers crispy. Be sure to try the Jaipur Sour, a spicy variation on the Pisco Sour. This surprising blend of Venezuelan rum Pampero Blanco, turmeric and moringa (ed. Subtropical miracle tree or pepper root tree) will not leave you unmoved. Not in the mood for alcohol, the Tulsi Smash based on Seedlip Grove 43 (non-alcoholic spirit), tulsi (Holy Basil) and lime immediately pulls out all the stops for a bubbly evening. Each dish is influenced by Indian cuisine without indulging in overly spicy experiments. A typical Belgian beef tartare gets an Oriental touch here thanks to accents of sesame and tamarind without detracting from the original concept; the turbot with coral lentils, basil and vandouvan (an Indian spice blend) is a particularly striking dish and shows perfectly how the chef has mastered modern Indian cuisine. Highly recommended is the Butter Chicken in AUM fashion, with tomato curry and fried rice. For dessert buffs, it will be hard to choose between the rice pudding with saffron and pistachios or the homemade tiramisu based on chai latte, speculoos and kitul syrup.

High Energy
Not only foodies get their money’s worth at AUM, this is also the ideal setting for an intimate date or just a night out. Go with the AUM flow and surf on the compelling beats towards the bar and dance floor. Follow the rhythm of the music and boost your energy level into the night. The absolute highlight is the Bonfire moment (a ritual from Indian culture). In short, AUM is the new meeting place in Brussels, a fascinating place full of surprises.
