As the door to the outside world is increasingly opened, the cultural sector is eager to welcome more people into their museums and exhibitions. From true art connoisseurs to art lovers, there is something for everyone this spring. Our PureDeluxe team is happy to invite you on a short but very informative tour through several Belgian museums and expos.
1/ Gustav Klimt- The Immersive Experience
Let’s start with the artist Gustav Klimt, a name that will not sound too strange to you, since his paintings are world-famous. Klimt was born in Viennain 1862, as a member of a large family, led by his father, a gold engraver and his mother, a music expert. He made a career as a symbolist painter, muralist and draughtsman. The exhibition is being held at the Horta Gallery in Brussels, where the visitor is completely immersed in Klimt’s life and masterpieces within a period of 35 minutes. This is done using a 100% digital experience consisting of a 360° image of various paintings and the possibility of stepping into Klimt’s shoes using a virtual realityglasses. It is a definitely recommended experience for young and old!

4/ banksy – “the brussels show”
The following exhibition shows the works of a very famous artist, but unlike Gustav Klimt, Banksy is an anonymous artist, specialising in graffiti. Despite his anonymous identity, which has still not been revealed after all these years, many of his drawings, paintings and installations appear in public places. Some of his most famous works are on display until 12 June at the art gallery Deodatoin Brussels. This exhibition is controversial because it goes against Banksy’s principle of only exhibiting his art in public. Don’t let that stop you from attending and enjoying this magnificent exhibition.
Opening hours:
Tuesday to Sunday : 10.30 – 14.00 15.00 – 19.00
Tickets are already sold out but register for the waiting list: https://deodato.be/banksyshow/
5/ design museum gent
We are leaving Brussels behind and arrivingGhent, more precisely at the Design museum of Ghent. At the moment, you can visit two different exhibitions there. The first exhibition is called Home Stories and fits perfectly into the current context, where we have to stay in our digs for over a year now. The exhibition takes you through interiors of the last 100 years and reflects on the political, social or indeed technical improvements that serve as the driving force for the ongoing dynamic “home”. The screening revolves around 20 interiors, each with their own elements and specificities, designed by known and unknown artists.
The second exhibition can be seen in a similar context. It revolves around the place where many of us spend countless hours of our day, namely The Office. And this particular space in our home is also subject to the dynamism of time and all the changes that come with it. To visit both exhibitions you are expected in the Jan Breydelstraat 5 at Ghent.
