Of course, we at Puredeluxe are fans of the German luxury brand Porsche. That the brand does more than just market glitzy sports cars we have known for some time. The editors’ hearts were racing when we heard that they were going to expand their E-bikes with two new E-bikes. From now on, your trip through the city on this flashy bike will not pass unnoticed!
The two new E-bikes reflect the timeless design, the special technical features and the fascination of the Porsche brand. The handling characteristics of the Porsche eBike Sport make it the perfect companion for everyday life, while the Porsche eBike Cross is ideal on rough terrain. The full-suspension carbon frame with an organic shape inspired by the Porsche Taycan, the powerful Shimano motor of the latest generation and the Magura high-performance brakes are just three of the elements that guarantee top performance. Both models have been developed in collaboration with e-bike expert Rotwild and are manufactured in Dieburg, Germany.
All-rounder for sporting fun
The Porsche eBike Sport is perfect for everyday rides, whether in the city or in the countryside, on the way to work or enjoying some leisure time. The new, powerful and ultra-compact Shimano EP8 motor, which provides motor support up to 25 km/h, and the Shimano electronic gearbox system ensure optimal performance. Thanks to the Magura high-performance brakes integrated into the handlebars, the Porsche eBike Sport has a sleek and compact handlebar. The elegant and puristic design is emphasised by the M99 LED lights from lighting specialist Supernova, which are integrated into the handlebar stem and the aerodynamic seat post. In addition, high-quality suspension components such as the Magura upside-down suspension fork and the Fox rear shock, combined with tyres with low rolling resistance, provide a sporty and balanced ride on asphalt or soft terrain.
Travel range in real time
The Porsche eBike Cross feels at home in the countryside, off the paved paths and far from the road. The powerful engine, newly developed by Shimano, shows its full power in difficult terrain and delivers maximum performance while maintaining a natural riding feel. The Magura-MT Trail high-performance brakes have extra-large, heat-resistant brake discs that ensure optimum deceleration, while the Shimano XT 12-speed mechanical system allows quick shifting depending on the needs of the rider and the terrain. The hydraulically adjustable Crankbrothers Highline seat post allows for quick adjustment of the saddle in different degrees to find the perfect position. The ergonomically designed handles guarantee full control at all times. They feature the Shimano colour display, which not only shows speed but also distance and range in real time. The sleek design is complemented by a full-suspension carbon frame, which perfectly combines the spirit of adventure with style.
A Porsche Taycan, but in a bicycle
Both models are inspired by the sporty character of the Porsche Taycan. The wheels take their inspiration from the naturally formed carbon frame of the vehicle’s sloping line. The sophisticated design, developed by Studio F. A. Porsche, ensures optimum light reflection. Porsche has developed a unique high-performance rear carrier for the new Taycan Cross Turismo, which is easy to mount and perfectly designed for transporting e-bikes. Thanks to long wheel rails and a high load capacity of 50 kilograms, up to two e-bikes can be mounted and the tailgate can still be opened, even when loaded.
The carrier can also be used universally for different types of bikes and can be expanded with an additional rail for a third bike, if desired.
The eBike Sport and the eBike Cross bring the sensation and performance fascination of Porsche to two-wheeled vehicles. Whether on rough terrain or in the middle of the urban jungle, the Porsche eBikes are the perfect companions to get riders to their destination with power and dynamism, without compromising on comfort and style.
The Porsche eBikes will be available from spring 2021, in three frame sizes, S (approximately 1.56-1.70 m), M (approximately 1.68-1.82 m) and L (approximately 1.80-1.94 m), in the Porsche concessions.
