Energy prices are skyrocketing. Many swimming pool owners fear for their energy bills at the end of the year. But what if we told you that with the help of your swimming pool, you could suppress your energy bill? Leisure Pools, market leader in extremely sustainable monoblock swimming pool technology, launched the zero-energy programme. An integrated online system that is able to communicate with your home and adjust energy smartly.
Back to the roots
Leisure Pools was founded 25 years ago as a manufacturer of swimming pools in Brisbane, Australia. Later they expanded their factories to the United States and Europe. In Belgium, you can contact Zwembadmarkt & LPI, located in Aarschot. They are the BeNeLux distributor and manufacture swimming pools for the European market. With ultramodern production facilities, Leisure Pools is the only brand in Europe that manufactures premium pools, built from 100% polyester free epoxy vinyl ester resin. This allows them to offer a lifetime guarantee . In the 25 years of the company’s existence, no pool has ever been returned to the factory. In other words, there is no chance of your pool breaking down.
Innovative buffer
And what will it cost? The central question when installing a swimming pool. The cost of energy plays a central role here. Fortunately, digitisation and industrialisation are no longer unknown concepts in our society. However, in the swimming pool sector there is still a high need for innovation. Did you know that only 37% of the generated solar energy in the house, by means of solar panels, is actually used and that the remaining energy is lost? This is because we often work outside during the day, which means that our consumption is relatively low. However, at these times, the solar panels generate the most electricity. Leisure Pools saw an opportunity and started looking for a new and energy saving way to build swimming pools. This resulted in atotally integrated online pool control system, equipped with PLC control, which combined with a heat pump, solar panels and a smart meter, turns your pool into a thermal battery. So you use less energy and you can swim in pleasantly warm water!
How does this work?
Through the technical pallet, you can choose between different options to heat up your pool: as quickly as possible, ecologically or, of course, zero-energy. The latter is what it is all about. Thanks to the PLC control, the swimming pool appliance can communicate with the smart meter. This way, the surplus energy is used to heat the pool water and your pool acts as a thermal battery. This way, a buffer is built up that is a few degrees warmer than the temperature you want. Then when the outside temperature drops, the heat of the water is better retained. However, it is important that you have a well insulated pool so that the heat cannot escape. As an optimal cover for the pool, you should ideally choose solar slats.
Next level
Yes, there is even more behind the scenes of Leisure Pools and their zero-energy program. Namely, all pools are stored in the cloud. This makes it possible to intervene remotely and take over all functions. This way, an intervention on site is rarely needed, which also saves you money.
Still not convinced that a swimming pool is for you? What better way is there than to simply test out the swimming pools yourself? Visit the showroom and who knows, you might soon be enjoying a splash in the water in your own garden.
